Greater
Oaktown Organization for Development, Inc.
was organized in 1997. Several citizens
joined forces and decided that Oaktown
needed to take action and pull together for
the betterment of the community. The
outcome has been successful, not only in
bringing people together, but also in
bringing more business to our community.
The purpose of G.O.O.D. is to promote,
develop and encourage the people and
businesses of the town.
G.O.O.D.
cooperates with many entities: Knox County
Council, Knox County Development
Corporation, Oaktown Town Council,
Oaktown-Busseron Township Volunteer Fire
Department, Busseron Township Youth
Foundation and Oak Village Nursing Home.
G.O.O.D. is
funded by voluntary donations, from both
individuals and businesses. The funds are
utilized in the best interests of the
Oaktown community. G.O.O.D. meets the third
Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the
Community Center located on 3rd Street. We
encourage you to join us in our efforts as
we strive to make this great community even
better!
Membership in G.O.O.D. is only $5.00 per
year.
